Helping kindergarteners discover the natural world

The importance of awakening young children's sense of wonder about the natural world was evident to an IGERT whose research topic is the natural interface science application to environmental science and engineering. A workshop on herbs was presented to kindergarten students in a fun and exciting way to promote their interest in science.
