Achievement

CIIP trainees are making significant contributions to coastal ecosystem management in their work with our non-academic partners. Through critical white papers and internship reports, our trainees are solving complex resource management problems with The Nature Conservancy, the National Park Service, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council, the US Geological Survey, Hopkins Marine Station, the aquaculture industry, and NOAA. The host institutions receive the results of student inquiry and our students get to learn first hand the different cultures of doing science outside of a University setting. This experience has been transformational in a number of our students research and career choices.
