Program connects students with multiple faculty contacts

IGERT students report having 54 faculty contacts. Since starting their IGERT Fellowships, 19 of these faculty have begun working with IGERT students who they had previously never worked with, while 16 faculty had a working relationship with at least one IGERT student and they continued working with them during their IGERT fellowship. One example of the interdisciplinary research and multiple collaborations facilitated through the program is IGERT Fellow Kim See's recent publication on a high capacity calcium primary cell based on the Ca–S system in the online April 2013 publication of Advanced Energy Materials [K.A. See, J.A. Gerbec, Y. Jun, F. Wudl, G.D. Stucky, R. Seshadri, A high capacity calcium primary cell based on the Ca–S system, Adv. Energy Mater. (April 2013)] which includes collaboration with three IGERT advisors from two departments (Chemistry, Materials).
