Model for digital curation education

Hedstrom, PI, has developed a model for digital curation education that characterizes domain knowledge, technology knowledge, and data curation knowledge along a continuum where factors such as the maturity of the research infrastructure, degree of adoption of common ontologies and nomenclatures, and the extent to which scientists in the domain share common concepts and models. Hedstrom presented this work at the AGU 2012 in San Francisco and at Cultural Heritage Online 2012 in Florence, Italy. Work leading up to this model was informed by observed differences between bioinformatics and materials science researchers.
