Achievement

Trainee M. Dye has worked with IGERT faculty member C. Allen to co-organize the 500 Billion Words workshop at Indiana University (http://mypage.iu.edu/~meldye/workshop/). The focus of this interdisciplinary workshop is on the impact that online access to enormous corpora of written and spoken language may have on our understanding of symbolic communication. The workshop received funding from the IU Institute of Advanced Studies and will host speakers from across the US and Europe, with a seven of IGERT-affiliated faculty participating.
