Research Achievements

Successful preparation of three polymers

Work continues on the design and development of new polymer-supported complexants for the selective recovery of lanthanides and actinides from aqueous solutions. The focus of the approach is the immobilization of aminophosphonic acid ligands on cross-linked polystyrene beads. The primary achievement of this reporting period is the successful preparation of three polymers. The team has successfully synthesized a linear polyamine and two amino alcohols (one cyclic and one acyclic), then phosphorylated both. Metal ion studies are in progress.
