Proposal Writing course provides writing experience

The Molecular Biosciences Program course on Proposal Writing (DGE 613) focused on proposals for graduate student applications. Proposal writing is an important priority for the IGERT curriculum and all students are encouraged to submit fellowship proposals as a part of their departmental requirements, or as a part of this course. The course focuses on the main sections required in grant/fellowship proposals and provides students direct writing experience coupled with feedback from co-student peers. The recent group of trainees to complete the proposal writing class has excelled in short proposal exercises. Specifically, A. Michaud successfully participated in the WISSARD Program (Antarctica) and has identified a host for an international internship; L. Camilleri submitted a successful proposal for an internship at UC Berkeley, and T. Bell successfully completed an international rotation in Hungary.
