Carbon assessment model for conservation land use

Although her research is still in its preliminary stages, IGERT Trainee Amy Frazier’s carbon assessment model for conservation land use efforts has an interdisciplinary facet to it because it incorporates Urban and Regional Planning into GIS-based environmental modeling. The project has also led to her international research experience that she will be undertaking this summer at the University at Queensland, Australia. Her project proposal was selected as a winner of the 2009 Hugh Calkins Award in Applied GIS awarded by UB’s Geography department.
