IGERT training a major asset in hiring
Trainee Justin Yates (Industrial and Systems Engineering) completed his Ph.D. in four years and was hired immediately in a tenure-track job at Texas A & M University. Yates reported that his interdisciplinary training and geographic information systems and science knowledge acquired in the GIScience IGERT program at Buffalo were seen by Texas A & M as a major asset and an important factor in his hiring.
