Trainee Achievements

Trainees work at various institutions

IGERT trainees performed research at different institutions as part of their integrative training. Adam Urness, from Prof. McLeod group, spent three months in Germany as part of a COSI-IGERT funded International Rotation. Working at the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology with Dr. Tobias Bonhoeffer, Adam acquired working knowledge of cellular biology and practicalities of handling cells, skills that will aide him in his PhD research. In addition to the technical skills he learned in this international rotation, he gave two talks, one as part of a COSI seminar for fellow COSI-IGERT trainees and another one for participants of the 1st COSI@CU Conference, about how to make an experience like this happen. Ryan Lewis spent the summer of 2011 on an internship working for WesternGeco (a Schlumberger company) in Houston, TX; working on advanced signal processing algorithms with Dr. Evren Yarman.
