Project Exploration outreach

Trainees Heather King and Charlene McCord both participated in working with middle school girls going on Project Exploration's All Girls Expedition to Yellowstone National Park. Project Exploration is an outreach organization that serves underrepresented girls and boys from Chicago and the All Girls Expedition, for many participants, is their first experience away from home. In Yellowstone they explore the environment and work with naturalists to learn about many aspects of science including ecology, evolution and animal behavior. Charlene and Charlie both helped to prepare the girls for the trip and Heather accompanied the girls and their expedition leader, Jameela Jafri, lending her expertise to the in-the-field program.
