Trainee Achievements

Novel class of chemical compounds

In a collaborative effort with the Haley Lab (UO), trainee Christopher Weber (M. Lonergan, UO Chemistry) explored the properties of a novel class of chemical compounds. These materials have numerous potential applications, most notably photovoltaic devices and organic electronics. This effort involved the combined skills of synthetic organic chemists, crystallographers, and electrochemists, keeping within the interdisciplinary theme of the IGERT program. This work led to the published results in the journal Organic Letters and has fostered a continuing collaborative effort which will lead to numerous publications addressing this class of materials.
