Trainee awarded Linsky Fellowship

Julie Padowski, an IGERT trainee, was awarded the 2010-2011 Linsky Fellowship for Outstanding Water Research from the National Water Research Institute. This competitive award is given every two years to a ?student in water science or engineering whose research is original, innovative, and expected to advance the state-of-the-art.? She was selected for this award because of the unique, interdisciplinary approach she is developing for studying U.S. urban water vulnerability- particularly in that the research has a high potential to create results that are relevant, timely and useful to urban water managers. The emphasis of our IGERT on an integrative, systems based approach to research lead directly to Julie?s success in obtaining this prestigious award.
