Trainee Lee Bryant received a 2-year NSF Earth Sciences Postdoctoral Fellowship to continue her research on the biogeochemical cycling of manganese, and its effect on drinking water. The award is based on an NSF proposal that Lee wrote and submitted (Lee is the sole PI on the proposal) and will enable her to work at Duke University as well as at Eawag in Switzerland, continuing the highly-interdisciplinary research initiated during her PhD. Lee Bryant also won first place in the Paul E. Torgersen Graduate Student Research Excellence PhD Poster Competition.
