Evolution of learning over time

IGERT Trainee Jamilah Adbur-Rahim is working with co-advisors Frank Doyle, Chemical Engineering, Linda Petzold, Computer Science, and Scott Grafton, Psychology. Jamilah's research focuses on quantifying the learning process to understand how learning evolves over time and which brain areas are tied to learning. Adbur-Rahim et al. have developed an experiment using visuomotor tracking with pronation-supination movement of the forearm (isometric task force). Learning is modeled as a controller. She has been able to choose a controller type that best describes the dynamics of the system via system identification techniques.
