Using network models to combat terrorism
Dominick Wright, an IGERT fellow in Political Science has written a basic template for how to use network models to combat terrorism. A summary of some of his findings have been prepared in a report for SOCOM. This is quite a rare achievement for a graduate student. His results show link properties of networks -- connectedness, centrality, and degree distribution -- to the potential for terrorist organizations to carry out tasks.
