Achievement

The Wind Science and Engineering doctoral program has been successfully established beyond our IGERT program. The Ph.D. degree in Wind Science and Engineering was approved by the Texas higher Education Coordinating Board in July 2007. The degree program was evaluated by the Graduate School at Texas Tech University in 2009 and deemed to be highly successful and sustainable. The program also admitted seven new doctoral students in August 2009 from the following fields of study: biology, atmospheric sciences, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and construction technology engineering. For the upcoming Fall 2010 semester, the program has interviewed a total of twelve students. As a result of the NSF IGERT program, the Wind Science and Engineering doctoral program has become a sustainable and growing degree program.
