I am a first year graduate student in the Nanoscience and Microsystems program at the University of New Mexico. At the current time I am working on binding energy studies between Virus Like Particles (VLP) and cancer cells using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). I am also building a bioreactor for mechanical strain on heart valve and bone tissue during growth.
My background is in mechanical engineering, but my ultimate career path will be in tissue engineering with a concentration on bone growth. I enjoy what I do now, and will ultimately retire to teach on the college level. Everything else between now and then we will let industry and my interest guide.
