About Me
Andrew received his PhD in Civil Engineering in 2005 from the University of Colorado in Boulder. His dissertation research was on the impacts of mining on the aquatic ecology in the Snake River in Colorado. During the later part of his PhD work, Andrew worked as a Contaminants Biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site. After completing his PhD, Andrew went to work for Trout Unlimited as the primary scientist for the Colorado Water Project, working for the non-profit on water quantity and water quality issues. During his tenure with Trout Unlimited, Andrew successfully worked on developing scientifically defensible water-temperature standards in Colorado. Andrew began a post-doctoral appointment with the USGS Crustal Imaging and Characterization Team in January 2007. His research was a cooperative effort between the USGS, Colorado Division of Wildlife, and the Colorado School of Mines.
In his spare time, Andrew was appointed in 2007 by the Governor of Colorado to serve as a Commissioner on the Colorado Water Quality Control Commission. Andrew also serves as an affiliate of the University of Colorado’s Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research, and as President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry.
