IGERT.org Drawing to a Close

Description:

Dear IGERT.org Community Member:

This letter is to extend our sincere thanks for your participation and support that you have given to the IGERT.org Resource Center, as well as to each of the IGERT Video & Poster Competitions that were hosted in 2011-2013.

IGERT.org staff at TERC in Cambridge MA, with funding from NSF, have been able to serve the IGERT community by providing a virtual resource center and a collegial network since 2008. It has been a great privilege to facilitate the sharing of resources, research, presentations, best practices, career opportunities, and conferences posted by trainees, faculty, alumni and partners. IGERT.org also provided national and international dissemination of varied interdisciplinary graduate education programs funded by NSF’s IGERT program. The three poster and video competitions were extraordinarily successful in sharing the innovative, cutting edge, research being conducted by trainees in each of these programs with a very broad public audience.

As of October 1st, funding for IGERT.org will end. The site will be archived and will no longer be actively maintained and you will no longer be able to log in. Member and project pages will be modified to represent program participation, but will hide contact, biographical, and other information that might require updating. Content that is dependent on logging in (e.g. The Job and Conference Boards, Groups, and Webinars) will no longer be accessible. If you wish to obtain video recordings of selected project webinars please be in touch with us by September 30th at contact@igert.org and we will make them available to you. Also, please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions or concerns.

Again, our thanks go to all of you who have served on advisory panels, have participated in one of the video and poster competitions, have posted to the site, or have been interested readers of its content.

We will be sending a short survey asking you for your input. We would appreciate your participation as it will inform future efforts and provide summative feedback.

Sincerely,
Joni Falk, PI, Brian Drayton, CoPI
and the entire IGERT.org team
